Custom T's Motorsports Park is the first and only 100% black owned and operated professional racing facility in the United States. Founded in 2018 by legendary grudge racing promoter Larry Thompson (Known as Larry T in the drag racing world) CTMP has quickly become one of the hottest and most talked about motorsports parks on the east coast.
In 1987, Larry Thompson started the T-shirt company, Custom T’s of DC. He built his business screen printing
T-shirts, caps, sweatshirts and tote bags for family reunions, school reunions, school athletic departments and you guessed it, drag racing events

In addition to printing items for the racing events, the company began selling T- shirts and caps at the races. The shirts portraying the event name, racers and race cars became extremely popular. Larry, already a drag racing fan from growing up watching his uncles race at the local drag strip began brainstorming about holding his own race.Since the T-shirt business was already popular amongst racing fans, the ideal name would be CustomT's Racing. It became a reality in 2001, with the promotion of his first race at the Colonial Beach Dragway in Colonial Beach, VA. It was a huge success,
In 2008, CustomT's Racing went to the next level by promoting their 1st Annual Doorslammers Nationals at Maryland International Raceway, the attendance and participation was outstanding.
Since then Custom T's Racing has held events at race tracks up and down the east coast including Darlington Dragway, Virginia Motorsports Park, and Piedmont Dragway to name a few.
